About Us

Presentation of the C.W.C. Church

We are a restoration and deliverance ministry located in Douala, a port city in the Littoral region of Cameroon. The Word of God is our source of authority. It is through the Word that we become “wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 3:15).

Our goal is to make men true worshipers according to the model of the Acts of the Apostles, to worship God in spirit and in truth as the Bible prescribes in John 4:24, but also to display God’s glory in all things, as Jesus taught us. To this end, we meet three times a week at the Camp (Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday) to encourage one another, equip ourselves, and worship according to the model of Acts 2:42.

We live in a multicultural environment. The church is the ideal place where all sociological and ethnic components should be represented. This is reflected in our church, whose members come from all parts of the Republic and, for some, from beyond. When we gather, it is a foretaste of heaven, an anticipation of the millennial reign of Christ with the elect (Revelation 20:4). When a great multitude of people from every nation, tribe, people, and language will gather before the Lamb who was slain (Revelation 7:9). Although we are a diverse congregation, we regularly share fellowship with one another.

In the midst of our diversity, the cause of Christ is what unites us.

OUR VALUES

Love: We are driven by the desire to be instruments for the manifestation of God's love for humanity. (1 John 3:16-18; Galatians 6:9-10)

Selflessness: We are not motivated by greed and do not distort the Gospel for personal gain.

Honesty: The Bible instructs each of us to speak the truth to our neighbor (Zechariah 8:16). We want to tell all those who come to us that they will never find in our community a pastor or any other servant of God capable of compelling God to answer their prayers until certain conditions are met.

What

We believe

(STATEMENT OF FAITH).

We believe in one God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Thus, the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, who is unchanging in His Holiness, Justice, Wisdom, Mercy, and Love. He is the Almighty Creator, Savior, and Judge who sustains and governs all things according to His sovereign will for His own glory.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:27), whose blood offers forgiveness of sins to those who believe (1 John 2:2; 4:9-10), and that He is the true God and eternal life (1 John 5:20). The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life in obedience to the Father. His miracles attest to the authority with which he taught, and all his words are true. As mediator between God and humanity, he intercedes for his people with the Father (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25).

We believe in the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit continues to equip Christians with all spiritual gifts, including the gift of healing and the gift of miracles. (1 Corinthians 12:7-8; Mark 16:16-17; John 14:12)

God has revealed himself in the Bible, which consists of only 66 books in the Old and New Testaments. Every word was inspired by God through human authors, so the Bible, as originally given, is in its entirety the Word of God, without error and completely reliable in fact, doctrine, and practice.

We believe that biblical faith is the only one that saves—that is, the Gospel proclaimed by Christ and the apostles, whose sole source is the Holy Scriptures. It is the unchanging, unalterable, and absolute truth communicated by the Holy Spirit and expressed in the New Testament. It is the path to follow in purity and righteousness (1 Timothy 1:5).

The true Church is a supernatural organism within the natural world; it is a body of which Christ is the head and to which all who are saved belong. It is made visible in local churches, which are congregations of committed Christians united by the Spirit for the worship of God, the preaching of the Word, the administration of baptism and the Lord's Supper, for pastoral care and discipline, and for evangelism. The unity of the body of Christ is expressed through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:2-5). True fellowship among churches exists only where they are faithful to the Gospel.

Salvation is entirely a work of God's grace, accomplished by the Holy Spirit, and cannot be earned or unearned. It was accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to all in the Gospel. God, in his love, forgives the sinners he calls, granting them repentance and faith. All who believe in Christ are justified by faith alone, credited with Christ's righteousness, adopted into God's great family, and receive eternal life.

We believe that water baptism symbolizes the burial of the old sinful life, a public confession (before men, before God, and before principalities and powers), a clean break with the world, a gateway to a closer relationship with Jesus, an entry into an entirely new life, a firm covenant of obedience, and total submission to Christ and His Word—an essential step in a true walk of faith (Rom 6:3-4; Gal 3:27; Acts 8:36; Acts 8:16; Acts 9:18; Acts 10:48; Mt 28:18-20; Mark 16:16-18).

We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with evidence of speaking in tongues, is the anointing for service. No one can commit their strength to the battle, and moreover, He does not allow us to wage war against Satan, the flesh, and the world without equipping ourselves. Without the Without the fullness of the Holy Spirit, we will be ineffective and useless in the conflict. It is essential for every Christian to be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues and continually filled (Acts 5:18) for a victorious life (Acts 2:4; Acts 1:4; John 7:37-39; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 8:12-15; Acts 19:1-6).

We believe that the Lord's Supper (the Eucharist) is a commemoration of Christ's sacrifice, offered once for all, and involves no change in the bread and wine. All its blessings are received by faith. It is the agent that stops sin in the church. The beloved are encouraged to participate in the meal with discernment, lest they be judged (1 Corinthians 11:27).

A work accomplished by the Holy Spirit alone, making us holy and separate from the defilements of this present age, to serve the Master who redeemed us from darkness into his pleasing light (Hebrews 12:14; 2 Corinthians 6:17; Colossians 1:13).

We believe in the resurrection of all people, some to eternal life, and others to eternal damnation. (John 3:36; John 5:28-29; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 20:11-15)

OUR LEADERSHIP

The Elders. From the first century onward, elders were appointed in local congregations to equip the Saints for the work of ministry and the building up of the body of Christ, a task entrusted to the five (5) gifts of the ascension (Acts 14:23; 20:17; Ephesians 5:10-14). The R.O.C. Church is therefore an “elder-led” ministry, meaning that several biblically qualified men oversee the congregation as a whole. Some of our elders are employed by the church, although most are in various sectors. All elders must possess the moral and spiritual qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, striving to lead the church by example, preaching, teaching, training, and counseling. They meet regularly to pray and provide spiritual oversight of church matters.

Deacons. When a dispute arose in the early church concerning limited resources, the apostles appointed servants to provide for the church’s physical needs while the apostles devoted themselves to “prayer and the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4). Similarly, many deacons serve the Church, the R.O.C., according to the model of the early church. The spiritual and moral qualifications of the deacon are similar to those of bishops and other workers of Christ (Titus 1:5-9).

OUR TEAM

A team of Elders, led by a Pastor, works full-time from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Pastor is responsible for implementing the ministry's vision. The ministers fulfill various roles—from counseling and administration to planning children's programs, reading programs, and church service—all with the goal of enhancing the collective ministry of the R.O.C. Church.
